What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle Japanese energy-healing technique created by Mikao Usui.  Meaning “universal life energy” Reiki is offered through light touch or hands held slightly above the body. It encourages deep relaxation, eases stress and supports your body’s natural healing processes.  As a non-invasive and complementary therapy, Reiki helps balance your life energy (Ki/Chi), which is believed to promote well-being.

What Should I Expect?

At the beginning of each session, we’ll talk about your needs and goals. We’ll start with grounding and intention-setting, move into a deeply nurturing Reiki treatment, and end with time for quiet reflection. Each session is trauma-informed, adaptable, and delivered with empathy and integrity. The focus is always on helping you find your calm and reconnect with a sense of comfort and inner balance.

Our healing philosophy

Healing begins with calm.

Ben offers gentle, heart-led Reiki healing that supports emotional balance, relaxation, and holistic wellbeing, with a special focus on individuals who experience disability, distress, communication challenges, pain, or long-term health conditions. When we slow down and create stillness, the body and mind naturally move toward balance. Reiki provides a gentle way to restore harmony, reconnect energy flow, and nurture self-awareness, particularly for those who may find traditional therapeutic communication challenging.

We provide a safe, sensory-aware environment where both children and adults can feel calm, understood, and supported. Through compassionate touch and intuitive energy work, Reiki helps reduce anxiety, regulate the nervous system, and promote a sense of peace, even when words or traditional approaches fall short. Ben’s methods are both heart-led and trauma-informed, offering compassionate support for those living with long-term health conditions, sensory sensitivities, or emotional overwhelm.  He also has specialist interest and experience in disability, pain management, FND, and sensory regulation.
