Masters in Osteopathy (MOst)
Shani graduated from the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the British School of Osteopathy) with a Masters in Osteopathy (MOst).
As a former professional dancer in London and Melbourne, Australia, Shani benefited from numerous osteopathic treatments throughout her career. Following an ankle injury, she decided to study osteopathy with the goal of helping others experience the benefits that osteopathic treatment can provide.
Shani aims to build a good patient/practitioner partnership working closely with her patients to help restore health and wellbeing. She treats a wide range of people and conditions incorporating manual therapy techniques, cranial osteopathy, soft tissue massage, exercise prescription, self-management strategies and lifestyle advice.
She is fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
We use osteopathy and sometimes cranial osteopathy to manipulate the muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons, and where appropriate, soft tissue treatments, such as stretching, deep tissue massage, strain counter strain, muscle energy techniques and medical acupuncture. In naturopathic treatments we use a technique called applied kinesiology to determine muscle weakness, which can help us to understand any internal problems associated with your presenting complaint, such as reduced blood supply or nerve damage. We will always explain everything to you as we progress.
